Enterprise Inns has announced the licensees who have won its popular Pubs in Bloom competition, which showcases the best outdoor displays across the pubco's estate.

Out of 300 entries, 86 publicans received £500, with directors then awarding 17 divisional winners with an additional £1,000.

The total £60,000 prize money then gets invested back into the pubs.

The competition was open to all Enterprise licensees across 17 divisions. Publicans had to submit images of outdoor displays that made the exterior of their venues ‘look exceptional’.

This was the second year the competition was undertaken nationally.

'Phenomenal displays'

James Armitage, sales and marketing director Enterprise Inns, said: “Each year, the standard of entries for Pubs in Bloom just keeps on getting better – and this year’s no different. Publicans across the estate have pulled out all the stops and put together some phenomenal displays.

“Making your pub’s exterior ‘look exceptional’ is an integral part of attracting new visitors and encouraging return custom by creating fantastic spaces to sit and enjoy a drink.

"This doesn’t happen overnight and this competition has been designed to recognise and reward green-fingered publicans who have worked hard to give their pub kerb appeal and a wow factor.

“The divisional directors found this year’s judging particularly challenging, which is testament to the outstanding level of entries.”
