Enterprise Inns’ Pubs in Bloom is set to return following a record number of entries in 2015 – its first year as a national competition.

Licensees from all 17 divisions of the pubco can enter the competition, which focuses on floral displays around pubs in order to make them 'look exceptional'.

The first round of the competition runs at a regional level with each winner from the area's receiving £500 to spend on their pubs.

These pubs will then go forward to a final round, which is judged by Enterprise's divisional directors, with a divisional winner's title and the change to win £1000.

Enterprise sales and marketing director James Armitage said: “This is a chance for publicans to show off how fantastic the outdoor areas of their pubs look and win some money to spend on their businesses. We had some phenomenal entries in 2015, and standards this year are bound to be high.

“We hope entrants will make the outside of their pubs look exceptional. Judges will be looking for good examples of abundance, creativity, the Wow! factor, and kerb appeal – how does it look to a customer passing  for the first time and does it entice them inside?”

Licensee Gary Gilchrist of The Brook House, Hayes - and one last year’s divisional winners - said: “Flowers have been a big part of the pub for more than 20 years, and we spend thousands each year on our displays and baskets.

"It all adds to the pub’s appeal."

Enterprise publicans wanting to enter should email full colour photographs to chofvaoybbz@ragrecevfrvaaf.pbz including the name of their pub, outlet code, and regional manager’s name.

The closing date for entries is Friday 5 August, with judging taking place during mid to late August.

Winners will be notified after 1 September 2016.
