Multi-site operator Redcomb Pubs has added a further site to its fast-growing portfolio of outlets having only acquired its previous site in October.

The pubco, owned by Dan Shotton and Mark Draper, has added the Old Manor in Potters Bar, Hertfordshire, to its list of sites following the purchase of the Old Shades in Whitehall, central London, last month.

The new site, which dates back to the 13th century and is one of the oldest buildings in the area, once formed part of Wyllyotts manor house – and has the traditional features of such a venue with Tudor timber beams and other original elements.

It has a 170-cover dining room with vaulted ceilings as well as a galleried dining space, bar and private function area. Near to the railway station, it is a popular site for commuters as well as those using the local theatre, which is opposite the pub.

Offer of the site

The venue's food and drinks offer includes real ales and traditional pub food. The pubco hopes it will fit seamlessly into its portfolio of Home Counties properties, each focusing on a traditional, affordable pub offering that can be accessed by the local community.

Shotton said: “The Old Manor comes to the Redcomb Pub estate with great heritage and a great reputation, making it a fabulous, well-researched addition to our growing portfolio. Our continued expansion strategy has seen two new acquisitions in as many months, adding strength to both our London and Home Counties representation within the UK pub sector.

"Well-established, quality sites such as the Old Manor come along too infrequently and we are delighted to be bringing this well-loved site into the Redcomb fold. We look forward to working with the current team at the pub, meeting the locals and providing them with the top notch food, drink and hospitality that Redcomb Pubs has become so renowned for.”
