Cocktail bar owner Jason Hole is determined to find the owner of a wedding ring discovered inside pipework under a sink in his bar, That Place, in Swansea marina.

Hole’s plumber cousin Chris found the ring when he was doing some repairs.

“We had a stag party here last week and they knocked the tap in the men’s toilet so I called in Chris to fix it,” said Jason. “When Chris took the sink and pipework to bits it fell out. At first he thought it was a nut but then he noticed an inscription.”

Jason put a photograph of the ring on his personal Facebook page and within a couple of days there had been 1,500 shares. A few hundred more shares circulated on the bar’s Facebook page where he wrote "Hopefully someone's misses (sic) hasn't hit the roof too much and I can salvage someone's brownie points. Please share... there is an inscription inside the ring."

He said: “I’ve had five or six people ring, mainly women saying their husband has lost his wedding ring, but none have been able to tell me what the inscription says.”

The silver coloured ring could have been left undisturbed under the basin for as long as 19 months when the bar was built from a shell.

The story of the lost and found ring has circulated on local media and radio, but there are still no takers. Jason said it is still too early to say if the publicity will help bar sales.
