BrewDog reveals list of target cities for new pubs

BrewDog, the Scottish brewer and bar operator, has revealed a list of target cities for 2013.

The company said it wants to open in Liverpool, Sheffield, Brighton, Cambridge, Oxford and Cardiff, plus south and west London, next year.
BrewDog said it would also “happily consider submissions from other locations”. It is offering £1,000, plus a “lifetime discount at the new bar”, to anyone who suggests a site where the company chooses to open.
The firm said potential new sites need to be currently on the market; have previously been a bar and have both a cellar and a valid licence; have a capacity of 80-130; ideally be 150-200 square metres in size; and have good footfall but not necessarily completely central. BrewDog said corner units are preferable and it would consider sites to buy or lease.
BrewDog has set a deadline for submissions of 20 January.
The fast-growing company currently operates 10 bars and is set to open its 11th, in Leeds, in early 2013. BrewDog also recently opened its new brewery in north east Scotland to cope with increasing demand.
