The Federation of Licensed Victuallers Associations has revealed a new logo and website to show that it is a “forward-thinking” organisation.

It comes as David Hawksworth, of the Fox & Hounds in Northallerton, North Yorkshire, took over as president.

He succeeds Nigel Williams, who took on the role two years ago. Hawksworth has been a member of the association for 13 years.

The new look was revealed at the FLVA’s 20th annual conference in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, last week. The logo now reads: ‘FLVA Publican’s Partner’.

The website was set to go live yesterday (14 February). It is also available on iPads and iPhones. It includes advice and information for current and prospective licensees.

There are also details of membership and how to sign up. The FLVA is looking to expand nationally, so the website explains the lower fee for those outside its heartland.

Hawksworth told delegates: “The idea behind this development is, not only can we expand the FLVA, which we have wanted to do for a few years, it’s about putting a perception out there that we are not just a little old crack-pot organisation. We are a very forward-thinking organisation and present ourselves in a very professional way.

“I think that the efforts [in which we] try to support licensees are absolutely amazing now and it can only go from strength to strength. Let’s hope that we can expand and go nationwide.”
