Pub operator Inn Collection Group is expanding out of the north east of England.

The group, which currently runs three sites, has bought the King’s Head in Newton under Roseberry, North Yorkshire.

The pub has been given a £400,000 makeover including a restyled dining area and the addition of four bedrooms, making a total of 12. The pub has also been rebranded from the King’s Head Hotel to the King’s Head Inn.

The pub is now rated at AA three star standard, in line with the group’s other three properties.

The purchase of this pub is part of the group’s ‘buy and develop’ growth strategy.

Group leader, Keith Liddell said: “We operate a good value bed and breakfast business model in pubs that also serve a strong, all-day food offering.

“Our three North East units provide more than 100 beds, making us one of the hospitality sector’s biggest pub accommodation providers in Northumberland and this acquisition allows us to spread our boundaries.”

The group is currently working with tourism agency Welcome to Yorkshire to attract more people into the area and pull in customers.
