A London licensee has won a year’s free Sky commercial subscription following the launch of the new 2012/13 Sky Licence.

Darragh O’Connor of Kenricks Bar in St John's Wood entered the draw to win a year’s free Sky commercial subscription in November and won a Golden Licence which included a subscription and an upgrade to the Sky Ultimate package.

Sky launched the competition to celebrate the release of their new 2012/13 Sky Licence sticker, which provides instant recognition of who is a legitimate Sky subscriber and is displayed in the window of a premises with a commercial subscription.

The Sky Licence is one of a number of activities which Sky undertakes to protect the interests of their legitimate subscribers from those who choose to act unlawfully.

O’Connor said: “It was fantastic to get the call and completely unexpected. Sport is extremely important for our business. We factor our subscription into our monthly expenditure, quarterly and annual budget, so to have our commercial subscription for free for 12 months - that gives us something extra. It’s amazing, and it means that we can then reinvest it into the business.”
