The Inn at Cranborne, Dorset is Hall & Woodhouse Pub of the Year
The pub is licensee Jane Gould’s first site, and she reopened it after it was closed for two years.
Hall & Woodhouse said that Gould has built the pub up into “a fantastic business”, which was the first inn to be awarded 4 stars by the AA.
There were six other award winners who each won £250. All the winners will be taken away on a European city break in 2014 too.
The awards ceremony took place at Goodwood Racecourse last week. More than £1,000 was raised for Macmillan.
Gould said: “I thoroughly enjoyed the day at Goodwood, and to be crowned Public House of the Year has been a fantastic accolade for me. The inn is my first public house which I reopened with Hall & Woodhouse’s help after it had been closed for two years. Both myself and my team have worked really hard so this award just proves our hard work was worth it.”
