Heather Pistor, former-creative director of bar and events company Mothership Group, has taken on a central Brighton pub called the West Hill Tavern.

Pistor and her husband and business partner, Ben, have reopened the New River Real Estate Investment Trust site following a £50,000 refurbishment.

Following on from Heather’s involvement with Mothership’s east London sites, such as Hoxton Square Bar & Kitchen, the couple have said they plan to create an east London atmosphere at the pub by blending old and new furniture and having rustic decor. The site will also be run as a wet-led business.

Ben said the site was “in need of investment and refurbishment” when taken on in early 2017 and that the pair were pleased with the results of their refurbishment.

Asset development director for New River David Shipton added: “It’s great to see all of the hard work that Ben and Heather have put into bringing The West Hill Tavern back to life.”
