Cambridge beer house Pint Shop is set to open its second site in Oxford next month (September) following extensive work to the venue.

Situated on George Street, the 1930s-era former building society building has been designed with period features and wood and tiling througout.

Food at the venue will include seasonal British dishes with an emphasis on meat and locally sourced ingredients as well as a bark snack offering of slicing pie, roasted vegetables, and hot chipped potatoes with curry sauce. The operator is also developing a stout-based beer bread to be sold at the bar.

Pint Shop has brewed a beer with De Molen brewery in The Netherlands titled ‘Hoog and Doog’ - High and Dry - to celebrate the opening. A pale ale, it is dry hopped with grapefruit.

Rich Holmers, co-owner at Pint Shop, said: “We are really looking forward to getting the doors open to the Oxford site. We have been working on it since March and we can’t wait for our customers to see it.

“It is an exciting time for Pint Shop, our team have put a lot of work into the site and we hope our new customers love the look and feel of the place.”

The new opening has created 60 jobs in the local area with senior sous chef from the Cambridge site, Nolen Page, promoted to head chef in Oxford.
