Heineken UK has revealed the wholesale price of its draught Bulmers cider brands will increase by around five per cent from January 10.
An 11 gallon keg of Strongbow will increase by £6.61 to £133.58. Woodpecker will rise £6.31 to £128.20.
And a 50-litre Bulmers Original keg will increase 5.3 per cent to £144.13.
A 12-pack case of Bulmers Original bottles will increase by 66p to £21.71, the company told licensees last week.
Other Heineken cider brands, such as Scrumpy Jack and Jacques, will also see increases.
But, one licensee, who wished to remain anonymous, said he was angry that "any pub industry supplier would even dream of a price rise in January 2011 - especially as it's one of the most expensive products".
He added: "This and the VAT rise will take the price of my Bulmers from £3.50 to at least £3.63, and realistically to £3.65."
A letter to licensees from Heineken UK's on-trade managing director, seen by The Publican, states: "I appreciate that raising prices is never popular, but we remain firmly committed to investing in the UK on-trade through our brands, so that customers want to visit your pub, club or bar to enjoy the best we can offer."
The increases will come into effect at midnight on January 9.
