BrewDog to give away free pints on general election day

The craft brewer has announced two election-themed initiatives aimed at engaging members of the public.

The #VoteForPunk campaign entitles voters who take a picture of themselves outside their polling station to a free pint of Punk IPA, the brewery’s flagship beer, at any of its UK bars.

Claim all day

The offer can be claimed all day on Thursday 8 June or Friday 9 June.

Meanwhile, the BrewGov poll will see BrewDog bar staff around the country survey members of the public about their voting intentions on Wednesday 7 ​June. The brewery will then use this information to predict the result of the election before polling stations open their doors on Thursday 8 June.

Members of the public who take part in the poll will be rewarded with a can of Punk IPA.

'Stand up and be counted'

James Watt, co-founder of BrewDog said the election was an opportunity for people to “stand up and be counted”.

He said: “Whatever your views, whatever your status, every vote was created equal. An election is a key moment for those that feel marginalised or under-represented to stand up and be counted; so we want to encourage and reward those making their voices heard 8 June.”

The news follows the release of BrewDog’s annual sales report, in which it was revealed that the brewery’s UK sales increased by 97%​ last year.
