Goose Island to launch new session IPA
Goose Midway will be available in keg format for wholesalers and on-trade establishments across the UK this month.
A 4.1% session IPA, Goose Midway is described as having a “bright hop aroma” and “medium-to-low bitterness”.
'A good introduction'
The Chicago brewery hopes that the beer’s lower ABV and approachable flavour profile will make it a good introduction to the IPA style.
Josh Smith, European brand ambassador at Goose Island Beer Co, said: “We’re delighted to announce the launch of Goose Midway. We’ve seen how popular hoppy beers are in the UK and also the growth in lower ABV craft beers, so we think Goose Midway will be a great addition to our range here.”
Migration Week
Speaking ahead of the MCA Managed Pub Conference, Goose Island president Ken Stout said the brewery’s London operations were being “well received” but highlighted the need to “have more than a few beer selections in the 4% to 5% ABV range”.
Goose Island is hosting a series of events in London this week as part of the brewery’s ‘Migration Week’, including an intimate cooking class with TV chef Valentine Warner on Friday 16 June.
Migration Week is described by the brewery as at “a variety of diverse events across London, where beer lovers can embrace the spirit of Chicago in the capital,” and runs from Monday 12 June to Saturday 17 June.
The brewery was established in 1988 and acquired by AB InBev in 2011.
