BrewDog launches Vote Sepp beer
BrewDog has waded into the FIFA controversy with a beer to “bribe” president Sepp Blatter to award Scotland the 2022 World Cup.

The Beer, Vote Sepp, is a wit beer made with hibiscus and will be served in brown envelopes.

The brewer has sent a case to the FIFA president in Zurich, along with an invite to discuss their bid at the new BrewDog bar in Sao Paulo.

“Vote Sepp marks the official launch of our unofficial bid for Scotland to host the World Cup 2022,” said BrewDog co-founder James Watt.

“We know the event was awarded to Qatar, but once President Blatter has a sip of this incorruptible beer, we’re sure he’ll come around to our way of thinking.”

“There are so many benefits to hosting it in Scotland. Unlike Qatar, there would be no concerns over people overheating during the summer in Scotland and with the hosts guaranteed a place in the tournament, we could finally see the Scots make an impact.”

Vote Sepp is the latest in a line of attention grabbing beers from the self-styled “rebel brewer,” the most recent of which was a beer for Russian President Vladimir Putin earlier this year in protest at the country’s poor record on gay rights.

It also recently had a run in with UK watchdog the Portman Group over its Dead Pony Club beer, which culminated in Watt calling the body a “gloomy gaggle of killjoy jobsworths.”
