CG Restaurants (CGR) has acquired a second site for its Dirty Martini bar concept in London’s Hanover Square.

The company, which also operates the Fire & Stone chain, has taken the lease on the former Chopper Lump run by Davy’s at St James’s in Mayfair.

Earlier this year, it was revealed CGR was to return to the acquisition trail over the next year as it looks to add to its five-strong Fire & Stone chain and open further bar operations.

Hugh Fowler, managing director of CGR, said: “Dirty Martini’s sophisticated cocktail bar for the post-work, pre-club crowd has proven so successful at our existing premises at Covent Garden Piazza we felt it was time to accelerate our expansion.

“The concept is focused on key areas that have a vibrant workforce and are close to some of London’s best nightlife.

“The London bar market is currently very much affiliated with luxurious surroundings inspired by New York.”
