The Tailor Made Dining Company, the four-strong multiple operator led by Ted Docherty and Dion Korving, has announced refurbishments at two of its Brakspear-owned pubs totalling more than £500,000.

The Crown at Playhatch, Oxfordshire, will be opened up to give a more ‘airy’ feel, while the function room will also be refurbished. It’s set to reopen in February.

Seven new rooms will be added at the White Hart in Nettlebed, Oxfordshire, which also received a £250,000 refurbishment in April last year.

Tom Davies, Brakspear chief executive, said: “Talented tenants like Ted and Dion are managing to grow trade, despite the downturn, by offering customers the ‘pub essentials’ of great food and drink, consistently high standards and a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere.”

Tailor Made Steaks let customers ‘tailor make’ their meal by selecting their preferred cut and weight of steak from a counter in the restaurant, with advice from staff.

The steak is cooked to their liking and served with a choice of sauce, vegetables and other side orders.
