When pizza was introduced at the company’s Revolution bars in 2008 it ac-counted for 40% of total food sales. As the focus moved to more innovative dishes, sales quickly dropped.

Now Revolution bosses are planning another pizza push, with all chefs and managers undergoing training. A ‘Love pizza’ campaign will also launch soon.

“We slipped in late-night pizza sales, but can add thousands without touching lunch sales,” said chief executive Roy Ellis. He hopes a renewed focus on “what made the pizzas so good” will kick-start an uplift in sales.

Yummy Pub Co is also introducing a pizza range at its Grove Ferry pub near Canterbury, Kent.

It will sell pizzas to take away and cook at home, as well as eat in-house.
