James Mackenzie of the Michelin-starred Pipe & Glass in Beverly, East Yorkshire, released On the Menu in December. It includes 70 recipes, insight into his life at the pub and has been selling “very well”.

He has also invested £40,000 in a conversion of the upstairs area, where he and wife Kate used to live. It now features a 10-cover private dining room with a state of the art screen and sound system. It can be used for corporate purposes but if the screen is not needed it can be covered by a large mirror.

It can also be linked up to laptops for private parties so people can show photographs or videos on it. The room is more commonly used for private parties, taster evenings and occasions when Mackenzie will host a table and interact with guests.
