Nick Hemming is joining from Punch Taverns as catering development manager and will focus particularly on promoting catering in the brewery’s 26 managed houses in Devon and Cornwall. He replaces Paul Drye who left last year.

Peter Hingston, formerly of Tresco private estate on the Isles of Scilly, has joined as executive chef. He will be primarily based at the Three Crowns in Chagford in Dartmoor National Park, which has been in St Austell’s portfolio for two years and is currently undergoing a £1.5m revamp to reopen in May. The Grade II-listed site will have 19 rooms.

“It is one of the reasons for hiring Peter,” said estate director Adam Luck. “There is an opportunity for really good food there.”
