Tom Kerridge's second pub, the Coach, Marlow, came fourth in this year's Estrella Damm Top 50 Gastropubs awards, making it the highest new entry to the list.

Led by head chef Nick Beardshaw, the Coach is Kerridge's take on a local pub, operating on a strict no-reservations policy and serving a wide variety of small plates incorporating the best British ingredients.

Beardshaw said: "It feels amazing to be here - just to be in the top 50 of all the pubs in the UK is amazing but to be so high, against such stiff competition, is phenomenal.

"We had no idea. We couldn't believe it."

Dishes on offer at the Coach include a sous vide burger, complete with West Country cheddar, fillet of sea bream with puy lentils and trompette mushrooms and duck liver parfait with plum chutney and toasted brioche.

Kerridge added: "I'm so, so proud of all the team at the Coach who, just over a year ago, set it up and put their heart and soul into making an idea and a concept of how we think a modern-day pub local pub should be working and operating. Every single day they give 100%."
