London brewer and pubco Fuller's has promoted its head of food to divisional director.

Paul Dickinson, who joined the company six years ago, has been appointed director of food.

Fuller's chief executive Simon Emeny said: "Paul Dickinson has revolutionised the way we view food in Fuller's and this promotion is recognition of that success.

"Paul has long aspired to make Fuller's as famous for our food as we are for our beer and, as director of food, I know he will continue to strive for that goal with the passion and vigour he has shown since his appointment six years ago."

Food achievements

Dickinson was responsible for the growth and development of Fuller's internal chef training programme, the Chef's Guild, and its accompanying Chef of the Year contest, and has been a driving force behind the company's chef-led marketing campaign, Fuller's Kitchen.

He previously told The Morning Advertiser (MA) he believed 'only education' could solve the UK's burgeoning chef shortage.

"You've got to have discipline around food and that's what will drive people. It's all about training," he said.

"With chefs, you have to invest. When you find those good people, you've got to look after them."

New marketing boss

Jane Jones has also been appointed as the company's new director of marketing.

Emeny said: "Great marketing is critical to our future success and Jane is an excellent marketeer with a real passion and understanding for Fuller's and our brands.

"These new positions reflect the way our business is evolving, how our customers perceive Fuller's, and the changing nature of the environment we operate in."
