Lancashire pie-maker Holland’s has teamed up with Guinness to create a new steak pie.

The Steak & Guinness deep-filled shortcrust pie is said to contain slow cooked prime steak in a rich dark gravy infused with the Irish stout.

Holland’s claimed it relied on its wealth of pie-making knowledge to sure the 247g pie had the “unmistakable” taste of Guinness.

The Holland’s tie-up marks a further extension of the Guinness brand, which has previously collaborated with the likes of HP Sauce and crisp maker Burt’s.

With an £2 RRP, the pie can be microwaved from fresh in four minutes.

New and different

David Girdler, spokesperson for Holland’s, said: “We wanted to create a new range of pies offering something new and different to the category, and this exciting collaboration with Guinness does just that.”

Girdler added: “Not only are we offering our customers a quality pie, we are pairing that with the distinct unrivalled flavour of Guinness – we’d say it’s a match really made of more!”

Holland’s is marking British Food Fortnight (20 September to 5 October) with a series of Great British recipes to complement its range of pies.

Dishes include Holland’s Steak & Kidney Pudding with triple cooked beef-dripping chips, and Holland’s Potato & Meat Pie with caramelised carrots, green beans & broccoli.

Based in Baxenden, Holland’s has produced pies in Lancashire for more than 160 years.
