The awards, organised by Potato Council as part of Chip Week from 18 to 24 February, aim to help outlets increase sales and publicity.

Establishments registered to take part will receive a kit including posters and voting cards. Customers are eligible to vote for their favourite chips until 6 February using the dedicated cards or online at www.chips.lovepotatoes.co.uk . The winning pub or restaurant will be awarded the ‘Champion’ title and be added to the chip hall of fame.

Kate Cox, marketing director for Potato Council, said: “The Choice Chip Awards are a real highlight of Chip Week. They can be used to spur media and community interest in your business and create a real buzz throughout January and February. But as they say, ‘you’ve got to be in it to win it’ so make sure you’re registered today.”
