James Watt and Martin Dickie, founders of Scotland-based brewery and pub operator BrewDog, have been awarded MBEs in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list.

Of the accolade Watt said: “It’s amazing to have been awarded something so prestigious.”

The punk beer firm recently relaunched its Bourbon Baby Scotch Ale, which was first developed by brewers to determine how lower ABV session ales develop in case.

The 6% ABV brew

Of the 6% ABV brew the company said: “Expect a fusillade of vanilla, spiced fruit and oaky woody notes interplaying with deeply resonant chocolate and a cinder toffee backdrop.”

Earlier this month BrewDog, which now employs hundreds of people, launched its first pizza offer at four sites.

Branches will offer up to six toppings on each £9 pizza, which will also be available on a two-for-one rate for a limited time.
