The best pub companies in the business were crowned earlier this month at the Publican Awards, at a an exciting new venue to mark the event's 25th anniversary.

 Britain's top comedian Micheal McIntyre hosted the event, which also saw guests take part in a successful attempt to break the world record for the biggest beer tasting. Late night operator Deltic were the night's big winners, picking up three awards for Best Late Night Operator, Best Pub Ops Team and Responsible Retailer of the Year. Previous winners the New World Trading Company won two awards on the night for Best Small Employer and Best Managed Operator (2-50 sites) and managing director Chris Hill took to Twitter to describe the event as 'the best Publican Awards ever.' Greene King's Rooney Anand won the coveted Business Leader of the Year award and Shepherd Neame's Jonathan Neame took home the award for Outstanding Contribution.
