Masons Dry Yorkshire Gin has achieved a 100% increase in sales since last year, meaning the company has accomplished a triple digit growth for the third year in a row.

The Bedale-based distillery in North Yorkshire sold £1.23m worth of gin in 2016, including £300,000 in bottle sales in December alone.

Last year, the value of gin reached £629.6m, an increase of 17.5% since 2015. Meanwhile, 604,637 volumes of nine-litre cases were sold in 2016, a rise of 12.5% since the previous year, according to CGA Strategy.

‘Keep going forward’

Masons Dry Yorkshire Gin brand ambassador Rory Gilbert told The Morning Advertiser: “We are expanding the team and hoping to reach out to the south of England to spread the brand’s name. We now cover nearly all the Yorkshire region.

“We made 37,500 litres of gin last year so it was a busy year, and the aim for 2017 is to double that again. We've got our work cut out for us.

“There's only one way for us to go and that's to keep going forward”

‘Huge demand’

The Yorkshire-based company has completed 10 international deliveries since buying its exporting licence last year.

Masons Dry Yorkshire Gin co-founder Karl Mason said: “Although 30% of our gin sales are from our home county in Yorkshire, the rest come from other parts of the UK, showing there is a huge demand for premium gin across the country.

“We are really excited for what 2017 has to bring with some exciting expansion plans in sight. We are also hoping to continuously grow both at home and overseas.”

The company’s best-selling products were:

  • Masons 70cl Original Dry Yorkshire Gin
  • Masons 70cl Yorkshire tea edition
  • Masons 70cl Lavender Edition
