A bar worker who sprayed rowdy football fans with a fire extinguisher at a Birmingham pub is under investigation by her pubco.

A video on YouTube shows a female bar worker storm outside to cut Stoke City fans’ chants short, covering them with foam.

The video was given to police by owner of the pub Black Country Ales. West Midlands Police has received no complaints from the fans, and is not pursuing the matter.

But director Angus McMeeking, director of Black Country Ales, is meeting with police to review the footage and said he will “carefully inspect” evidence.

After the review the company will follow its internal disciplinary code “if deemed appropriate”.

The fans are filmed chanting about Stoke player Marc Muiesa before the Potters’ 1-0 victory over Aston Villa on October 3.

The video was recorded by Dan Middleton.

McMeeking gave a full statement: “Black Country Ales, owner of The Wellington in Birmingham, has been made aware of an incident involving the discharge of a fire extinguisher by a barmaid following singing and chanting by some Stoke City football fans and customers.

"We are investigating the matter and will carefully inspect CCTV footage of the event and speak with members of staff. We have made footage of the incident available to West Midlands Police and will be meeting with West Midlands Police to review the footage. After the investigation, if it is deemed appropriate the Company will follow its internal disciplinary code. There will be no further comment from the Company on this matter.”
