RE: Sutcliffe on red tape, fees & payment dates "At present, the Government does not intend to make any non-enclosed place smoke-free." Do you think he had his fingers crossed behind his back when he said this? It's already been decided. After the next Govt Health Policy review within 3 years we'll see smoking banned in ALL built-up areas, and smoking shelters will become redundant. This post replies to this thread |

RE: Sutcliffe on red tape, fees & payment dates Pete, so cynical!...........I'm sure they have many more aspects of our lives to regulate; time was when laws were about what you couldn't do, seems to me we live in an age where laws are being drafted to let us know what we can do: I'm not sure if that squares with my understanding of christian democracy, which is the essential basis of European governmental systems. Before I upset anybody, I draw attention to the fact that I used lower case on purpose, so as not to offend anyone's religious beliefs, Christian or otherwise. If this is inadequate, I apologise in advance. This post replies to Pete Robinson > RE: Sutcliffe on red tape, fees & payment dates |

RE: Sutcliffe on red tape, fees & payment dates Q Do you believe that alcohol-related crime is caused more by the off-trade than the on-trade? A It's not about attributing blame to one section of the licensed trade or another. We all need to work together to address the problems associated with alcohol. Ir seems that it's only about attributing blame if you are a pub and don't contribute to party funds.
