Do you guys ever have anything supportive to say about your fellow licensees attempts to keep afloat. Oh no I forgot you are all perfect business people who will survive the drink police, and the obesity police, and the noise police, and the litter police.

Robert said "Do you guys ever have anything supportive to say about your fellow licensees attempts to keep afloat."

It's more supportive to tell her she's a crackpot and should stop doing this straight away.

It would be more supportive of us to suggest she does other things with her valuable time

Maybe, re approach menus, customer service or entertainment offer

You, on the other hand may think support is cheering her along and applauding her spraying fag spray around

Really depends on what you call support, I guess.

JS.....you miss the point, as was made perfectly clearly in the opening sentence of the article: she was responding to her customers. Does this really make her a "crackpot"?

Charles, you expect too much. Jon never reads anything except headlines and then goes all guns blazing missing the target frequently. You see the one thing Cyber Licensees like to do is let us all know they have the perfect solution to everything and all others are wrong. It is easier having a tunnel visioned view than to have independent thought a lot less tiring when posting in the middle of the night whilst waiting for the hundreds of cyber customers to leave,

Isn't this exactly what makes this trade so wonderful that we can have an individual thinking person who tickles the imagination and the funny bone? Excentric if you like but the whole essence of what makes this trade. Individualism not the standardisation the corporate face desires for it. To push it into the same boring mould of follow the manual.

Long may it survive.

Jon you missed an entertaining vibrant sociable licensee who interacts and knows his customers on a personal basis. You don't seem to list that as a marketing tool. Not in the manual is it? It is want makes every pub in this land unique.

I see you admit at long last that you would actually have to run sonmething past your line manager before implimenting it in "your" pub. So you don't actually have total autonimy.
