RE: Undercover drunk stings confirmed

I agree with Kevin, either they are not in the industry or know nothing about the industry.

I believe that people from outside our industray are better off, instead of posing and posting like they are in our business, they should just vote with their feet and avoid our places of business if they do not like what we do or how we do it.

I know that comment wa directed at Mr Tobin.  I work with the trade although I am not a Licensee, and would say that there is room for people who can add a balanced discussion.

Which brings me onto Mr Tobin, who quoted  the follwing:

Its amazing how many of you "publicans" openly admit you find breaking the law totally acceptable. Cant wait for Murphy to lose her case. Would love to see the look on all of your faces!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

I will be smoking a FAT CIGAR when it happens!!

It is clear that the concurrence of 'anti-publican' comments, and quite frankly immature threads, would make one wonder why you do post these comments.

You should hang up your slippers, and smoke your fat cigar.

James:

I think everyone here appreciates someone who is associated with the industry, even if you are not a publican like Bob, Wardy, and me.  This forum is supposed to be a melting pot of ideas and is, quite frankly, sometimes a b*tch and gripe column.  But there have been new ideas posted on this site that might help one publican survive in business, so all of it is worth it.

For several years prior to taking on my own pub, I read the MA and learned a great deal about the industry.  Many people will pick up a copy of it in a local pub and with its growing popularity, all types of people read our posts.  Hence, we get people that are not necessarily associated with the trade (our type of operation is not very similar to the managed trade) as we have our own unique battles to fight, whether they are with big pubcos or brewers/distributors.  As a result, many of them are derisive and will spend their time trying to divide groups speaking and working together.  They, quite frankly, enjoy wasting other people's time in the pursuit of pointless posts which are purely designed to detract the honest poster from networking on this forum.

And while none of us will agree with the next person on this site 100% of the time, it is a fact that their antagonistic postings are designed to keep us from airing our concerns and possible solutions to problems to exchange barbs.  RFM and others have been on this site a lot longer than me and could probably have accomplished a great deal more (including peace of mind) had they not had these continuous hecklers.  Leave them alone, they will finally wilt away for a lack of attention.
