RE: Murphy loses landmark foreign satellite case I will happily retract it if the appeal with EU law is successful. I spoke to an old friend who put me in touch with a lawyer in Newcastle who owns his own pub and has taken a special interest in this case and he seems to think (and this is a qualified legal opinion!) that the case has too far-ranging implications and will be dismissed.
P.S I didn't pull your post Craig and don't understand why anyone has. This post replies to craig hawker-thomas > RE: Murphy loses landmark foreign satellite case |

RE: Murphy loses landmark foreign satellite case i cant understand why it was pulled either, there was nothing in there that could be deemed as defamatory against anyone or any company, unless you count spelling sky as sly
unless there was TOO much truth in it, read it here

RE: Murphy loses landmark foreign satellite case European market or not Seems to me only if the big wigs are losing out on our hard earned cash we are not. If there is no money to be gained its ok to be in the european market. I cannot understand for the life of me what the problem is using foreign satelitte cards as long as they are of the commercial type and the taxes have been paid to that country put it this way if I was to buy (british made ciggerettes) in europe for half the price and smoke them in the UK am I breaking the law I think not. or if I buy a music cd( for the non smokers out there) and play it at home I still dont believe I am breaking the law. yet if I screen a game from a foreign satellite I am .work that one out. looks to me that Sky are losing out on a few quid and spitting out the dummy. This trade is hard enough as it is between the goverment, local councils and Sky who all want a piece of the cake and leave us with the crumbs I thought that being in the EU we were on a level playing field with our overseas competitors but Sky dont seem to understand this. RE: Murphy loses landmark foreign satellite case It was obvious Karen would lose. No judge is going to back a single individual against a multi-billion pound corporation under any circumstances. Anyway Stefan it makes no difference. Pubs will still continue to ditch Sly in favour of cheaper foreign providers until Sly learn to stop ripping off the pub trade.
