RE: Smoke ban not closing pubs Dear John Baker Please ask your bulging mailbag to sign this petition: http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/Pubcos Not directly about anti smoking legislation but possibly the only way to bring order to the house. RE: Smoke ban not closing pubs He would say that wouldn't he. Come down to Dorset. I have never seen so many landlords getting out. I am a six year non -smoker,not I hasten to add not by choice but due to health reasons, no nothing to do with smoking. The pub smells better the windows don't need cleaning as much, no ashtrays to clean .curtains stay fresher walls seem to stay brighter, that's fine but when trade drops off and you know its the smokers who are missing I rather paint the walls and do a bit more washing up and its not easy getting them back. Quite a few houses seem to be making up the rules as they go along being on the main road I have to stick to what HMG tells us to do.I still want to know where all the 'MOUTHS' that stated that they would be supporting the trade when the ban came in have gone. Somebody must have em. Rare Breed they are!! Chris Sherborne This post replies to this thread |

RE: Smoke ban not closing pubs I've known you for all these years, I can't believe it's over, we're finished now, it's closing time. I've put up with you for all these years, but you can rest in peace now, you won't see me anymore, it's closing time. After 12 years, you've taught me so much, I'll never forget all the good times we had, it's closing time. This post replies to Christopher Frowde > RE: Smoke ban not closing pubs |

RE: Smoke ban not closing pubs Dear John Baker Please ask your bulging mailbag to sign this petition: http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/Pubcos Not directly about anti smoking legislation but possibly the only way to bring order to the house. Have signed and will forward the address to all at freedom to choose. Freedom 2 Choose have instigated a meeting between the CIU in the North East and ourselves regarding the smoking ban and the closing down of Working Men's Clubs in the North East of England. This is an open meeting and all are welcome. We have many guest speakers coming and one of them is a publican, like yourselves, called Nick Hogan, who is at the forefront of the pubs/smoking ban debate. This will take place next month. Anyone can contact me at the address below for details: John H Baker Secretary F2C 22 Glastonbury House Priestfields MIDDLESBROUGH Cleveland TS3 0LF Tel: 08456 439 469 Email: office@freedom2choose.info This post replies to El Nino Luminoso > RE: Smoke ban not closing pubs |

RE: Smoke ban not closing pubs I would suggest that Alan Johnson is living on a different planet to the rest of us, as for a review of the Smoking Ban in 2010, that sounds about right to me, my guess is there will be no pubs or clubs open by 2010 if things don't change, so the ban will be the success that the government is making it out to be. Perhaps Alan Johnson would like to let us know when the ban on alcohol in pubs starts, so we can prepare ourselves for the thousands of folks that do not like beer fumes to start using our pubs and clubs, just like the thousands of non-smokers did. RE: Smoke ban not closing pubs When are you going to realise that this guy doesn't give a toss about what you think or whether what he is spouting is true or relevent.
He is passing on the government line in population control. They have not employed democratic principles or truth here right from the start of this debacle what actually makes you think that democratic principles of petition and protest are going to be recognised now? They were not recognised when the ban was implimented.
You are playing by a rule book your opponents don't recognise Democracy and freedom.
Your only choice is to oppose the law and insideous controlling of this government by direct action against that law.You have to say NO I won't be controlled, photographed 300 times a day, have my and my childrens DNA taken without my consent or agreement and be treated as a criminal without trial and electronically tagged for the states convenience. They are not listening to you or your complaints or petitions don't you realise that yet? You do not have a government that believes in your rights and freedoms only it's freedom to do with you what it wills.
