The battle over pub football continues! Somewhat surprisingly, given the rather dismissive comments of Lord Justice Pumfrey in the first part of this appeal, the two remaining judges have decided that the European issues raised by, effectively, the satellite suppliers, merit further consideration.

This will delay matters considerably, but perhaps not for as long as the lawyers for Ms Murphy are contending. I am sure that the Premier League will use every endeavour to expedite the hearing, but it will certainly be months before the European Court of Justice finally delivers its judgment.

RE: Tread warily as copyright case goes into extra time

Is anyone aware of FACT taking legal action against any pub who are paying for Sky, and also using the Foreign channels. A Sky rep told me FACT did not go into pubs who were paying for Sky, why upset people who are paying for Sky. Does that mean if you are paying for Sky the law changes, you are paying for Sky and the foreign signal is from Sky.

Tread warily as copyright case goes into extra time

I was taken to court in June 2004 for dishonestly receiving a television programme ( 3pm football game) I have always had sky on a commercial package, i was found not guilty as i had not done anything "dishonest". I was again summoned to court in August 2006 for the same reason and again i still had a commercial sky package, this trial was dropped because of the outcome of the Rochdale and Portsmouth cases. So yes people have been taken to court if they are paying for Sky.

RE: Tread warily as copyright case goes into extra time

why do Sky & the FA stop this nonsense right now......reduce the cost to a reasonable price (based on certified profits and not rates) and then I am sure many pubs will re-install Sky legally...no need to waste time & money on lengthy court cases....

but then i think I just saw a flying pig..........
