News Article Comments : OFT gives green light to Gamestec/Inspired deal

J Mark Dodds

The Office of Fair Trading (OFT) has given the go-ahead for Gamestec, a division of Danoptra, to acquire Inspired Gaming's pub business.

The deal provides Gamestec with ownership of about 30,000 gaming machines installed in pubs and other outlets throughout the UK. The move will make Gamestec the largets gaming machine supplier to the pub trade.

The ruling means Gamestec can now start to integrate the newly acquired business, currently trading under the name of RLMS Acquisitions, into its operations.

“We will now focus on putting the two businesses together as one, strong and service-led," said Gamestec managing director Stuart Ross.

"The pub industry remains at the core of our business. Our customers are being supportive throughout this period of change and we are working hard to repay that support."

Phone up the machine company and tell them that for the period the machine was not working you will not pay them any rental. If they are not happy tell them to come and collect it and that you will not be paying any further rental.

tell your pubco the same thing

Lisa.

Kevin is giving you erroneous advice.

The machine company is tied in with your pubco.

They will refund any shortfall logged and reported by you as a lessee.

You have no chance of redress through your pubco.

Anyone telling you different is a liar.

Your pubco will not engage with this kind of problem.

They are too busy stealing their 50%.

Kevin, the machine in question has no rent as it was the quiz machine( I get small percentage so do pub co if money is taken in the machine) So technically both of us are out of pocket as no one could play the machine.

Edward, I am well aware that the machine company is tied in with the pubco. This stems from having the same collector for 8 years and she was a wealth of information. In fact it was she who started to make me question the whole pubco situation but at the time there seemed no dissention in the ranks so to speak!!!

Lisa thanks for that.

I think that all of this type of machine are on profit share whether or not tied or freetrade. Not much can be done other than keep on complaining at the machine company.

However bet you pubco is "fining" them for everyday it is not working

So, quiz machine breaks down. If it takes money.

Let's all blame the Pubco.

Time for a reality check?
