Business Support : Advice on New Contract needed.

I am in the process of negotiating my new contract of employment and would like some advice on holiday entitlement etc.

I am the Manager of a social club and live on site, I currently get 20 days holiday a year, is this average?, it seems a little low to me.

20 days, plus all statutory Bank Holidays I believe is the Legal Minimum. You can check with the Wages Inspectorate.

Hi Paul

It all depends on when the holiday year for the business runs, for example if the holiday year runs in the calendar year ie January to December the entitlement would be 5.4 weeks which is 27 days for a 5 day week worker (includes bank hols there is no legislation that seperates bank holidays from normal holiday requirements).

However if the holdiay year runs from April to March, then the holiday entitlement would be 5.6 weeks which is 28 days for a 5 day week worker.
