Fierce anti-pubco MP Greg Mulholland has slammed Enterprise's offer to fund a new tenant's body as a "sick joke".
Enterprise boss Ted Tuppen offered to stump up £100,000 to fund a new body to represent individual licensees to redress the imbalance of power between lessees and pubcos.
But Lib Dem Mullholland, also chair of the All Party Save the Pub Group, dismissed the idea.
"This is mere cynical window dressing from Enterprise and a clear attempt not to face up to the damning conclusions of the Select Committee report," he said.
"This is an all too obvious attempt to try to present a new, cuddly face of the pubcos following all the bad publicity they have had recently.
"Licensees are finally being heard and it is time there was a strong, independent, licensee's voice in the trade but it is simply absurd indeed sinister to suggest this should be pubco funded."

RE: Mulholland: Enterprise offer a 'sick joke' Greg you are right, it is a sick joke, Enterprise Inns needs to lisen to the licensees and get its house in order, before it is too late for them, as one day soon they may be forced too. edited by: Columbo at: 03/07/2009 15:24:33 This post replies to this thread |

RE: Mulholland: Enterprise offer a 'sick joke' Mr Mulholland does justice to his role as an MP, bringing thousands of us licensees a little light at the end of the smelly poopco tunnel! All the two poopcos have brought to the table has been, nothing but 200% or higher sub-prime like mortgages, followed by a sick and exploitative business model, and now daily lies and propaganda, which's not going to fool anyone anymore!
