RE: Pubs can be haven for motorhomes The recent copies of the big 2 pubco leases prohibit the parking of a motorhome or caravan on the property. I wonder how tenants will get away with that. In addition, I know of several councils that require you to request permission to park them on your property. This post replies to this thread |

RE: Pubs can be haven for motorhomes You are going to need to get a camping site licence from the local authority or become a certified location of a club such as the Caravan Club. A proper licence is going to require planning permission and is pretty difficult to get at the best of times. My advice is to start with a Caravan Club licence first as this is easier to obtain. This will limit you to only 5 pitches. The tendancy is to 'off books' this, but don't. If you have a popular caravan club licenced site then armed with proper records showing a 'need' for an expansion into a larger capacity you are pretty well armed to go for Planning Permission and a larger number of pitches. I would get specialist advice from a planning agent if you want to go this way - Humberts Leisure or Charles F Jones for example. If you market it correctly then 1 to 2k per pitch per year is a feasible income. The guy in this article must have lots of pitches! It worth looking into the "28 day tenting" law which allows you to use a field for tents only (no caravans or motor homes) for up to 28 days in any year. This post replies to this thread |

RE: Pubs can be haven for motorhomes just to clarify a point, the notorhome stopover club is not a camping club, its members are not allowed to pull up in a car park , set up camp and light the bbq. the owner of the motor home is a guest of the public house and is staying overnight in the safe suroundings away from the roads and trafic. i hope this clears up a few points for you all, kindest regards kevin bird This post replies to this thread |

Have you cleared this with the local authority or planing department? To my knowledge nothing is different between taking cash for a motor home pitched on a car park and a motor home pitched on someone's field.
