An altercation between Lord Tebbit and a pub licensee in Bury St Edmonds has been settled with the offer of a free pint.
The MP for Chingford accused customers of the Queen’s Head of leaving empty drinks bottles outside his £1m Georgian home, which is 30 feet away.
Upon confronting the pub manager Joel Shepherd, it emerged that the bottles were not from the Queen’s Head, but from a local supermarket.
Shepherd has invited Tebbit in for a free pint to settle their differences.
A spokesman for the pub claims the incident is in the past. “It was a very trivial matter that has been blown out of all proportion,” he insisted.
Lord Tebbit has since written a note of apology to the staff at the Queen’s Head.

RE: Pub settles bottle dispute with Lord Tebbit Isn't this so representative of the whole problem this indusry has with the media and politicians of all shades - don't bother to investigate, just blame the pub! This post replies to this thread |

RE: Pub settles bottle dispute with Lord Tebbit Lord Tebbit, get on your bike, and pop along to the supermarket and tell them off, and then ask the local council to put a litter bin by your driveway! This post replies to this thread |
