Alan. The last pubco enquiry/investigation clearly stated that a tied tenant should be no worse off than a free of tie tenant. You`ve done the math,I`ve done the math,we`ve all done the math. FACT. |

Absolutely Chris. One very salient point which has so far not been acknowledged is this. Many publicans are "old school". Great at keeping their products in tip top condition and interacting with their customers. What they are utterly incapable of is playing the mind games the pubcos use. This is because,(as Ken has rightly pointed out) pubcos have grown and evolved relatively recently, become sophisticated(in the REAL definition of the word) and left Alf the good old landlord light years behind. They KNOW THIS AND CRUELLY EXPLOIT IT. With no organisation/representation,all Alf can do is bite the bullet, mumble palliatives to his disgruntled and diminishing customer base and try and find the money to pay his bills. Lets end this obscene situation, stop arguing amongst ourselves, recognise the vile enemy for what they are AND KICK THEIR ASSES. |

More to the point. Kevin. More lessees than you could imagine hold an anti pubco point of view. Many are intimadated due to a lack of broad education and are loathe to stand up for themselves. Many others either don`t have the internet or are unaware of sites like this one. Those are not patronising statements, they are facts. I have spoken to over 50 lessees in the past 6 months. The most moderate of whom had to curtail an almost overwhelming desire to throw his BRM through a window. |

No. I`m not blind to the petty, distracting childish tit for tat. I`m also not blind to the issues at stake, the culprits and the need for hard nosed, factual,no negotiation strong willed, unintimadated ,single minded campaign needed to WIN. See my post above again. |

Ken,it is a fight. Not a fight or slur or criticism of you, your experience or your integrity. It is a fight for the survival of countless thousands of real people who are exploited without mercy or representation by a Rachman like corporate behemoth. It is a fight to save the investment of hard earned capital, health and sanity,a fight to be able to keep a roof over the heads of our children and put food on the table. It is a fight against tyrannical, oppressive trading conditions the like of which exist elsewhere only in the 3rd world. Respectfully yours,Ed. |

"The pubcos operate within a legal framework". Just checked the calender, thought it must be April 1st. Ever got a gas safety certificate Dave E. Legally the responsibility of the LANDLORD. Try getting the b******s to pay for it. |
