RE: Murphy case referred to Europe > RE: Murphy case referred to Europe
hopefully, if Karen wins her case, i wonder if we can sue sky for telling us its illegal to use this equipment, for loss of trade, fingers crossed for Karen it will mean that EVERY prosecution and conviction brought about by sky and MPS will have to be overturned, all fines repaid and possible compensation paid, as well as the 2 companies having to admit that they acted illegally |

RE: European Court of Justice for foreign satellite saga > RE: European Court of Justice for foreign satellite saga
sky have ALWAYS had euro tv as some form of competition for home users. when sky very first started it shared astra1 which serves germany/austria, its only since 1998 its rented its own satellite instead of shareing with a company that was already there euro programming via satellite has been around far longer than sky UK has |

In the civil case, the Premier League is seeking a ban on importing, selling, hiring, advertising, installing and maintaining decoders. This will never happen, ever. the new BBC and ITV freesat service uses a very efficient european capable decoder. EVERY satellite company sells more non sky stuff than they do sky decoders, hmmm, hold on, nowhere even sells sky decoders, as they give them away with a subscription, and even then its ONLY through sky authorised agents. the top passage of this post should be re-written to say what it actually means: Sky is seeking to make watching anything other than sky illegal. as said, if this goes through, ill eat a dish live on webcam |

Licensee fined for illegal Sky screening > RE: Licensee fined for illegal Sky screening
showing 5 matches add up to thousands????? please, dont make me laugh how many extra thousand quid would the average pub make by showing 5 footy matches compared to not showing them? BUT......... showing sky on a domestic contract in a pub / club is against the rules |

Sky Sports signs six-year US Open deal > RE: Sky Sports signs six-year US Open deal
they have only done this due to the huge response when they stopped broadcasting the FREE golf channel back last year. other countries show it as well as the still FREE golf channel available elsewhere via satellite |

im definately not getting fed up of hearing from you dave, its a nice change to hear first hand at the tactics used by them (ive been in court with them myself, but my post about it got deleted) and it backs up my observation that 'trade publications' only report one side of the story, which helps to muddy the waters in favour of the big corporations |

(by the way guys, SKY illegally bought NOVAa few months ago, so thats not an option for next season) i reported this months ago, and was met with the usual 'conspiracy theory gone nuts' from the usual few, the posts were then deleted, but nova was approached by a scandinavian company who were acting for 'an interested third party' who was sky. if the members of this forum and its moderators took the time to actually read and think about whats being posted, instead of jumping up and down and deleting anything that sky dont like, then the licensed trade would learn a lot more about this situation, instead of all being treated like mushrooms |
