I had a bio on the previous MA website but it was erased when this site came live. This is a free flow ramble. It's a multi award winning pub. That is not by chance, it's something to do with me. It's my money I invested, my ideas, my graft, my flair and skills. I send out at least 4,500 emails every week and promote more actively than any other pub I've ever come across that doesn't have DJs and door staff. Yet S&NPE believe that a competent operator would achieve an 18% net increase income over the money The Sun and Doves takes now. When I signed the lease it was doing a grand a week. There have been many shootings, stabbings, other gun and knife crimes, (the most recent is a murder 60 metres away from our front doors at 1pm yesterday as I write this on 20 December 2008) crack houses, whores, prostitutes, aggressive beggars and all manner of other scumbag activity right on our doorstep. We're slap bang in the middle of two of the most deprived wards in the UK and S&NPE treat me like I'm on High Street Kensington. I have been stressed out beyond belief through my relationship with pubcos. Scottish & Newcastle Pub Enterprises for the last ten years. Only long term medication and one to one therapy has enabled me to cope with the crass stupidity of the system, the ignorance, the lies, deceptions, misrepresentations and down right charlatanry of the pubco system. It's Dark Ages stuff. I am a founder of the Fair Pint Campaign and I will not rest until the pubcos are brought to heel and hell. This is a rational position - based on logic, experience of the free of tie real world and a deep sense of right instilled by parents who are Methodist/Quaker in belief and educators by profession.

Doing things, 'Rawlings', is not pathetic. You are not doing anything other than scaremongering. You pose as an individual with more intellectual, moral and legal authority than GMB, their legal teams, and most of the posters on this forum put together. Pointing out that you're acting as the wraith of doom by trying to convince people they are being led as sacrificial lambs to the pubco slaughter is not abusive it's just observation. Using the word 'pathetic', as in 'miserably and contemptibly inadequate', is not meant as abuse either. It's just, as you take stand rigid in your unconvincing position, a description of your efficacy. This issue has been argued perfectly well by others here. Tony Preston patiently and eloquently argued the points above which others have perhaps not expressed so clearly. But there you are still plowing a mean little furrow saying 'you're all wrong' you're all doomed'. You are deliberately missing the point others make so you can continue attempting to fulfil a weird scenario of keeping people sceptical of taking action and scared of adopting a united front against widespread highly abusive business practices that have no place in modern society. It's usually described as dividing to conquer. Why are you doing that? Got a pubco shilling going on somewhere? |

Do something constructive instead of harping on about the Jubjub bird and the Bandersnatch of Contempt of Court. You're pathetic. People's livelihoods are on the line - whether they go on 'strike' or break 'contract' or get into a contempt of court situation or have the JuJu man come in the middle of the night and say BOO! to them under their sheets. In principle paul you are spot on. MPs are lambasted unfairly. I'd accuse pubcos perhaps not of stealing but of misrepresentation, deception and, certainly, harassment. I think these are all provable at base but very problematic to prove in day to day reality because of lack of funds to pay for the essential research needed to bring the compelling evidence together. I read about a harassment case involving British Gas and all the key elements which led to them being fingered are applicable to my situation with my pubco. Incidentally I was invoiced last week for £63K back rent without anyone so much as picking up a phone to say 'watch out' for a big one. I'm sure, because I'm a generous soul, that no one meant it to happen that way (even thought it's happened three times already? that no one at senior management level knows this kind of thing goes on, spurred on by the engine of the pubco - the credit control department - but when they DO get wind of it the story is always that the tenant wasn't communicating, playing ball, was getting behind on payments anyway whatever concoctions to make CCD seem innocent when actually they are the core difficulty in business cultures that don't know what their aresessees are doing from their eloboweses. |
