yet more on Freedom2choose history > yet more on Freedom2choose history
I think I don't need to say any more about the confusing history of Freedom2choose. For there to be four "unconnected" organisations with the same name and objectives speaks for itself. |

yet more on Freedom2choose history > yet more on Freedom2choose history
Robert So you seem to admit that you didn't check whether the name 'freedom2choose' wasn't in use by other people, just the web domain? Didn't you think that people would get you confused with Rod Bullough's Freedom2choose (which had the same name and aims as you). Rod was still being interviewed by MA, BBC and Mirror during late 2005. Surprising you didn't notice his organisation. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/london/4540130.stm http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/top-stories/2005/11/07/safe-cigs-115875-16340484/ |

Smoke rebel Hogan is out of prison > yet more on Freedom2choose history
The saga of just when Freedom2choose were formed continues. I asked Belinda (forum user 4606) Did you not exist then (in June 2007) either? She replied “No. We were constituted in October. We had no members until the very end of 2007 and most joined in 2008 and after.” So, according to Belinda, freedom2choose didn’t exist until the very end of 2007. Except Robert Feal-Martinez said “Oh Alan you do so make yourself look silly. Freedom to Choose started in February 2006 following the vote on the smoking ban” Right, so Belinda isn’t telling the whole truth and it was actually formed in February 2006 according to Robert. Is Robert telling the truth? Not according to The International Coalition Against Prohibition, which tells us that member organisation Freedom2choose “was founded in 2005 to oppose the introduction of a blanket smoking ban in the UK.” Have a look at http://tinyurl.com/f2cTICAP to see this date. (This is the Google cache page, so any attempts to rewrite history won’t change it) Then, of course we have the Freedom2choose that was formed in 2004 by tobacco supplier Rod Bullough. So we have four conflicting histories and some pretty feeble attempts to disassociate the organisation from its roots. Obviously an organisation that is very ashamed of its past. |

Here are links to evidence that the original Freedom2choose were discussed in articles in the Morning Advertiser http://www.morningadvertiser.co.uk/news.ma/article/9578?Ntt=crystal%2Bpalace&Ns=P_PublicationDate%7C0&N=0&Ne=598327&PagingData=Po_0~Ps_10~Psd_Asc http://www.morningadvertiser.co.uk/news.ma/article/9578?Ntt=crystal%2Bpalace&Ns=P_ArticleTitle%7C0&Ne=598327%2B598327&PagingData=Po_0~Ps_10~Psd_Asc Article in the Guardian http://www.guardian.co.uk/society/2004/nov/11/smoking.politics/print Here's a link to Rod Bullough (creator of Freedom2choose) being interviewed on 1st July 2007 about the ban. http://abcnews.go.com/Health/story?id=3335994 It seems very odd that you didn't know about them Robert. |

RE: Smoke rebel Hogan is out of prison > RE: Smoke rebel Hogan is out of prison
Googling 'freedom2choose' brought up the original site, so how could you not have known of their existence? Also, Forest supported them and could have told you. And their campaign was also reported on by the Morning Advertiser, which you read. It seems almost too stupid to believe. |

Smoke rebel Hogan is out of prison > RE: Smoke rebel Hogan is out of prison
Why on earth did you choose the name of a campaign started by cigarette machine operators? Isn't that a really stupid thing to do if you want people to believe that you don't have your roots is the tobacco industry? It's all looking really silly here Freedom2choose is started in 2004 by a cigarette supply company to fight smoking bans. Then Freedom2choose is started in February 2006 to fight smoking bans. Then Freedom2choose is started in October 2007 to fight smoking bans. It's a good job that I have such a low opinion of Freedom2choose that I actually can believe that you would be stupid enough to do this. Or are you just the "continuity" freedom2choose, with the same guiding hand but desperately trying to rewrite history to disguise your links to the tobacco industry? |

What about the Freedom2choose that started in 2004? Are you going to claim that was another organisation? |
