Esta chairman Colin McGhee dies > RE: Esta chairman Colin McGhee dies

unfortunately i was the one to bear the very sad news. I'd worked very closely with colin for the past 6 months on our case and feel priveledged to consider him a friend. He'd stayed with me many occasions and talked about putting lots of things right. I learnt a lot from him and will never forget how hard he's worked to in his words. Redress the balance which i believe will be his legacy. Rest in peace mate. We'll never forget you and your hard work.

Murphy case may delay foreign satellite legal actions > RE: Murphy case may delay foreign satellite legal actions

All cards are safe for the time being because it is dodgy ground, I think most trading standards, with the exception of ours!!! Seem reluctant to put their necks on the lone just for a few quid off Sky.

Record £25,000 pay-out for illegal Sky > RE: Record £25,000 pay-out for illegal Sky

I got broken into a few months ago, I told the police who did it and where they live. To date they haven't contacted anybody. I have been to court 7 times so far with this pathetic satellite argument - Justice in the UK? Don't make me laugh

RE: Murphy case may delay foreign satellite legal actions > RE: Murphy case may delay foreign satellite legal actions

Exactly, we were raided last October, have been to Mag courts 7 times now with no progress. I had the Nova system and have not once been treated any differently to the non Eu cards therefore believe they're backtracking frantically to assist with damage limitation.

Murphy case may delay foreign satellite legal actions > RE: Murphy case may delay foreign satellite legal actions

Just a lasst throw of the dice by MPS and SKY before they get battered out of sight in the courts, and Murdoch will be selling the big issue, Nice thought anyway, but they'll need to slash the prices to get people back, I have alwayds stated that I would re subscribe to Sky for a reasonable fee, however 2 pubs nearby with bigger premises and half the Sky bill isn't reasonable and they wouldn't discuss other clients with me, so until then, they can whistle

RE: £14,000 fine for illegal Sky > RE: £14,000 fine for illegal Sky

I suggested to them that the rateable value method is unfair It should go on the capacity in tv area at £x per person, I would rather pay per view on all games with a small flat monthly rate thus letting me choose the games people will watch and avoiding the other games. But I've argued all this till I'm blue in the face with them. You tell them you're cancelling domestic and they give you a stupidly low rate for 3 months, yet when I told them I was cancelling my £580 a month, no interest. They can't raid, raiding is illegal, you now have people standing up for their rights, Wait for press release, coming soon re our court case. . . . .

£14,000 fine for illegal Sky > RE: £14,000 fine for illegal Sky

We're still ongoing with the court appearances, However, I know of an area where the equipment has been returned to licensees, I think MPS and local TS are suddenly back-pedalling, it's damage limitation time!!!

RE: Luminar defends 80p drink offer > RE: Luminar defends 80p drink offer

Exactly, being a tied house means we can't buy in for this let alone sell it, Stop binge drinking? Stop daft supermarket prices we just can't compete, or lose our industry in general and all the revenue and Vat we pay!!!!

Murphy case: Written judgement out > RE: Murphy case: Written judgement out

Exactly David, They were up SKY's backside full stop, try putting an argument forward, you got no sense, just you're all in the wrong and going to jail etc, the sort of response you'd expect from School Children, not landlords and licensees!!!

Murphy case: Written judgement out > RE: Murphy case: Written judgement out

To be honest, I don't think anything will happen, maybe they'll send us through to Europe or drop the charges? Who knows, but Jon And Stefan have gone very quiet???
