Smoke rebels to stand in by-election > Smoke rebels to stand in by-election

I know it is soooo long ago and I have to admit I only just looked up the actual results of the vote See Hamish got 91 votes and good old David Icke 10 more. Really does put the smoking debate in perspective.

Regent’s restaurants are worst division > RE: Regent’s restaurants are worst division

They used to be fantastic operators but got so hung up on the city saying they needed a third brand. They should have stuck with what they had and not tried to manufacture a third party.

Regent Inns profits down £58.1m > RE: Regent Inns profits down £58.1m

Shares are now only one pence. Unbelievable.

Ken, I really have no issue with Graham or your posts per se , as long as they let others give an opinon ... But I have to say your reverence of Graham quite disturbing For whatever reason you have both descended from oblivion back onto the forum and we are getting that awful dominance attempt and hijacking of threads.

What a surreal post.

Exactly What is the BIG DEAL SKY say I will give you X if you pay Y If you like X and can afford X then pay Y If you like X but can't afford Y then don't pay it and don't feel obliged to discuss why you can't afford to pay Y Nothing else belongs in the equation Why should the supplier of X worry about your A B or C? Why should they care about your financial issues? They have balanced their books before offering X so any "up yours" and "internet digs" mean diddley squat. Be real men and say "so what" and join the the real discussion about what pubs really need. Which is NOT SKY. Buy a pack of cards, set of dominoes or anything else but don't try do be the conqueror of something you really don't have the slightest clue about. Despite the fact that it's there. it looks good and you feel you deserve it (for nothing)

the MA's official stance on the pub co's > the MA's official stance on the pub co's

Surely the most important role the MA plays is as a vehicle rather than a site that lays down the law without discussion? It is quite clear that we all have very strong and differing opinions. In my mind it would be wrong for the MA to give an opnion because some would disagree and that is not the mission of the forum. It is a mechanic to promote discussion. Why should the MA be the lead to a definitive opinion that is open to attack? If the MA laid down the law with what is 'right in the world' then the majority would leave as they would feel they shouldn't contribute Rather than demand the MA stake a case people should be big enough to make their own case and discuss that rather than play tippy toes without laying themselves outside to discussion
