Off-licence trials fingerprint technology to beat underage > RE: Off-licence trials fingerprint technology to beat underage

I think the name of the outlet 'Bargain Booze' kind of sums up the state of things today. How many people would visit the 'Responsible Retailer'?

Pub visits drop after smoke ban > RE: Pub visits drop after smoke ban

"One in five people visit pubs less frequently than they thought they would due to the smoking ban." Does this mean 4 out of 5 visit more frequently? Anyone for some statistical spin!

Coka Cola Post Mix Bibs > RE: Coka Cola Post Mix Bibs

I heard a rumour that a certain fast food chain famous for burgers get 10 litre Bibs really cheap on a sort of sponsorship deal and were selling them on to Pubs at a large profit so CC introduced the 7 litre as a way of monitering this. Probably Bull***t but a good story. Has anyone else noticed that the dispense vavle is very rarely at the front of these new boxes? Do the packers do it deliberately to P*ss us off!

Majority in favour of greater tobacco control > RE: Majority in favour of greater tobacco control

Maybe all children should be seperated from thier parents at birth and taken to a government run isolation unit where they are all protected from the dangers of tobacco, alcohol, drugs, child abuse, bullying, knife crime etc etc etc. Then on their 18th birthday when they are legally allowed to think for themselves they can be seemlessly re-integrated into society. ASH will be happy - no exposure to SHS, The Gov will be happy - no under 18's drinking, I will be happy because I won't have to fill out a form for every single one of the 500 people I ask for ID from on a saturday night!!

RE: Whitbread unveils location of next five Taybarns > RE: Whitbread unveils location of next five Taybarns

Do they do half of what you can eat for half price for those on a diet!!!

RE: Satellite football trial adjourned > RE: Satellite football trial adjourned

I think Ronald has a good point here. Can anyone tell me if the English Premier League are allowed to sell exclusive broadcasting rights for any single part of the EU when certain directives state there should be no barriers to trade/services etc within the EU.

RE: Top chefs slammed on wine mark-ups > RE: Top chefs slammed on wine mark-ups

And if I was too sell Vodka at 4 times what it costs me to buy I would be slammed by my LA for selling it too cheaply!! If a market can sustain the price, why sell cheaper and if customers think it really is too expensive they can go somewhere else.

RE: High Court rules in favour of smoke ban > RE: High Court rules in favour of smoke ban

Apart from the obvious, what is the difference between these guys circumstance and those detained in HM Prisons up and down the country who are allowed to smoke?

RE: Elliott: Enough moaning — let's have some action David Elliott > RE: Elliott: Enough moaning — let's have some action David Elliott

I bought a small freehold with my sister 4 years ago and we're doing very nicely thankyou. We researched what we wanted, found the right place for us, now we concentrate on the simple things and do them well.

Printed Glasses Needed - Beer Festival > RE: Printed Glasses Needed - Beer Festival

Hi Stewart, I've been looking at something similar myself. Try Utopia Tableware as a first contact 01246 858800. They can tell you who your local distributer is. Be warned, I was told a minimum run is about 1200 glasses. Anyone else with any contacts, please post! regards, Mark.
