Oh and another one that puzzles me, why do new incumbents get rent slashed in half and £150 barrel discounts? Personal Experience of this one, the new tennants of my old pub are on less than half the rent I paid Plus £150 barrel discount. At this level, my business may just have been sustainable in todays market. Why was I not offered such a deal, after all, over the years we made almost £250k in the tie for you? Well not you (ETI) but the same kettle of stinking fish! |

Question 1. Why does the tied sector look like S*it and fail while in the same comapany the managed sector flourishes? (same question to Giles) 2. Could it be lack of investement and profits skimmed off in the tie? |

Albert, mab are extremely good at bringing the market exactly what they want in thier pubs and restaurants. They have a format for every Market segment and plug away at positioning thier houses at the target customer. Some brands push the boundaries and some are traditional. Although managed and not leased mab pump millions back into thier estate and pay thier managers well. The pubcos, if took just one page out of mab way of doing things might nit find themselves in the mess they are in. Off topic I know but I'm sure mab will sort out this mess. ;) |
