RE: Disney to bid for Premiership football rights Lets hope that it breaks Sky up a little more, and offers consumers choice. Although it would be a shame if you could only receive a subscription through a Sky box. Wouldn't that look like a monopolistic collusion between 2 broadcasters! It would be very interesting if it did go ahead, to see how the subsciption worked, and if this offered a precedent on accessing foreign satellite subscription. This post replies to this thread |

RE: Disney to bid for Premiership football rights Hopefully the new BBC/ITV/Channel 4 Freeview Satelitte due to launch in March 2008 will offer an alternative platform. Other delivery routes available include BT & Virgin Media so it's already more than a 2 handed delivery option. Fraid though you have to trace BSkyB monoply back to Mrs Thatchers government who granted sole rights for Satelitte delivery to the Murdoch empire, who then roundly kicked the Tory party in the teeth by backing Blair thereafter This post replies to this thread |

RE: Disney to bid for Premiership football rights It'll make a pleasant change to have a "real" Mickey Mouse operation, instead of two other Mickey Mouse operations running T.V. Sport! John Ellis Crown Inn, Oakengates This post replies to this thread |

RE: Disney to bid for Premiership football rights but the only way to access this service will be via satellite, so just like now if you want setanta, you have to pay inflated prices to sky to view it This post replies to John Ellis > RE: Disney to bid for Premiership football rights |
