RE: Punch bans Chancellor from 8,449 pubs You really do have to admire the depths these companies will go to ride the spin machine don't you? Only tacit (unspoken) support for something they have no control over anyway. It is the licensees who have the power to bar not the Pubco.
The arrogance of it.
Where was their "tacit" or other support on the smoking ban?

RE: Punch bans Chancellor from 8,449 pubs So are Britain's largest Pubco going to move to bar themselves from their 8449 pubs due to devastating rent and crippling beer prices? This post replies to Ken Nason > RE: Punch bans Chancellor from 8,449 pubs |

RE: Punch bans Chancellor from 8,449 pubs Thanks to you gentlemen for saying it already. Having had a look through the Corporate Social Responsibility section on Punch's website: http://www.punchtaverns.com/Punch/Corporate/Social+responsibility/Our+communities/ I wonder whether any readers of this forum who know Punch well might have a go at matching up what Punch says it does with their own experience of the company. Eneterprise's CSR is here: http://www.enterpriseinns.com/netscape/investor_zone/invest_gov_responsibility.asp Much less readable than Punch's Scottish & Newcastle Pub Enterprises don't appear to have a CSR policy, a website search throws up no results - probably that's taken on by the parent company S&N PLC. One must assume they expect their tenants to have an individual take on CSR matters since each tenant is an entrepereneur running their own business. Just a stab in the dark. Can't find a CSR section on Admiral Taverns or Greene King's website, perhaps they're there buried somewhere I can't find them. RE: Punch bans Chancellor from 8,449 pubs Alistair Darling has not been quite as succesful yet as the pubco's in destroying pubs! It's like watching a load of hungry hyenas tearing at the carcus of a dead Zebra! Punch, you have done enough damage to our business's. If you don't put your money where your mouth is, then you will be going down the drain with us! If you have a Punch Lease, remember; the sooner you give the keys back to Punch, the sooner they become liable for all debts at the premises! If you are flogging a dead "Punch" horse, get out now, while you still have some personal items to take with you! This post replies to this thread |

RE: Punch bans Chancellor from 8,449 pubs After Mr. Punch's funny tale of the average lessee earing £40,000 p.a. (see other thread), his spinner must be up to 1,000 r.p.m. by now. It'll be over-heating before long! John Ellis Crown Inn,Oakengates This post replies to edward carpenter > RE: Punch bans Chancellor from 8,449 pubs |
