This is for 4 people really. Ken Nason, for whom I have a lot of respect, On the other, Gilbert Bank and Robin Scott for whom I also hold a lot of respect. The 4th is A.N. Other who I am reserving judgement on. Guys, Ken has rather clumsily tried to tell you what is happening. Before you scream Ken Nason crony; I don't know Ken other than through these forums. I observed the forums for well over a year and started to post my tuppenceworth early last year. Until recently, there has NEVER been this wholesale deletion of posts. I'm not saying kiss & make up, I know that is unlikely to ever happen. I say this. Get back to the uneasy peace that was. Gilbert & Robin: you were never 'mauled' by Ken. Gilbert however had the right idea; if you disagree post a reply, if you find the post objectionable, ignore it. Ken, I accept that of late, some people have impugned your integrity, (Gilbert & Robin, as an independent, he is entitled to do some work for GA-Select. Don't go digging dirt where there isn't any) If he chooses to suggest GA-Select as a company he happens to trust, that is also OK. If he is getting commission, that is NOT OK. The likelihood of commission from comments on these forums is minimal. A 5th in this intrigue, David Pott has tried to mediate and explain, perhaps in clearer terms what Ken has been saying. There is a grudge match going on, which is where character 6 comes in. This person appears to wish to foment violent argument between the different members of the forums. Chooses the side where he will find the most numbers to support him and, WHAM!!! No more forums. I am not a Ken Nason apologist. I fell into the trap a short while ago of giving person 6 breathing space. So I say. Ken, Robin, Gilbert and A.N. Other. Put you differences aside. Forget the grudges. fight the true enemies. I mention no names but, look back over the last 3 months. I am sure that you will see what is happening. ALL 4 of you!!

Dave This thread should be binned, forthwith You really don't have a clear understanding, and to bring in Gilbert, especially to the fore, is a real insult. There does have to be a new tolerance and understanding and it is all down to Ken Enough from me as I have tried to keep out of this, as best I can. This post replies to this thread |

PUTTING ASIDE DIFFERENCES is all a forum should be about. A forum is NOT about an individual or group stating a position and standing back expecting everyone else to agree, fall in line and supplicate to the great mind of the originator. It is about the EXCHANGE of ideas and points of view and then, possibly, the taking on broader perspectives as knowledge increases though participation which should lead to more robust positions being developed by everyone taking part. Discussion and consideration of like, or different, positions is all that is needed to make a forum be effective. Polarisation and entrenchment of different positions IS a possible outcome of the process and in recognition of this, AGREEING TO DISAGREE is part of the process as well so disagreement having opposing views should not be a barrier to success of the process. Sometimes people with opposing views might be able to understand their differences, in which case it can be great tingly feel good. At other times walking away each knowing the other is wrong and leaving the outcome to arbiters and the wind is all it takes. edited by: Mark Dodds at: 25/07/2008 10:18:52 This post replies to this thread |

Dave, I neither need or want an apology. I am very unhappy that any posts are being deleted by anyone other than the MA. It is not necessary. Lets face it, here your posts are all we have to go on about the poster and they tell a tale. It can be very daunting to post as a newbie on any forum. It can also become very compulsive. Seasoned posters on a lot of fora do tend to be very unforgiving to newcomers and as a result the gene pool becomes very limited. I have no feud with anyone, but I feel it quite reasonable to refer to past postings of anyone. My granddad used to tell me that it was okay to get something wrong, but to carry on time and time again and continue to get it wrong was lunacy. I would respectfully suggest someone has got their approach and presentation wrong. This post replies to Dave Evans > Put aside your differences. |
